Capcom's message for other <a href="http://www.newshopcheap.com/" title="new shop cheap">new shop cheap</a> computer game developers launching a new title in the 2012 festive season is simple: "Get the hell out of the way."

In an interview with Game Informer, Capcom's senior vice-president of planning and business development Christian Svensson said the firm is not concerned about a November 20th release date pitching it against a number of other big gaming titles.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is expected around this time, with new instalments of Metal Gear Solid, Hitman and Halo likely to be doing the rounds. Then there is Call of Duty and Battlefield limbering up for their annual December releases.

Despite the festive season being crowded, Svensson says the Resident Evil franchise is a pretty strong one in itself, and the sixth instalment is promising to be the "biggest ever".

"We're letting you know we're coming. We're giving people plenty of room to move around us. The other part is the nuts and bolts of it. If we put our stake in the ground, we can start lining up retail channel promotions, etc," he told the website.

Svensson also defended the timing of the Resident Evil 6 announcement, which could have taken attention away from the forthcoming release of Operation Racoon City and Nintendo DS title Revelations.

Instead, Capcom found the RE6 announcement had the opposite effect. "We thought it would actually of all things Resident Evil, and as it turns out it did," Svensson explained.

"Our pre-orders for <a href="http://www.newshopcheap.com/bracelet-c-69.html" title="power balance">power balance</a>
Revelations and Raccoon City were both helped on an upward spike with the announcement of Resident Evil 6."

He also noted that pre-orders for RE6 are already the best Capcom has ever seen for the franchise.

Capcom's three-minute trailer for the game depicts the franchise's two main protagonists, Leon S Kennedy and Chris Redfield working together with a number of other soldiers as the story jumps from city to city, from the US to China
